NGO Registration in Delhi
INTRODUCTION
A non-government organization is an organization that is neither a part of a government nor for a profit in business. It may get their funds from the Government, Business owners or from giant NGOs to run the NGO. Registration can be done either at state level or district level. An NGO can be registered in two ways:
• Trusts or,
• Society
Trusts: A Trust is a kind of NGO, which has established in the year 1882. It has minimum three members which can go up to 21 members. A trust has 3 posts which are:
1. President,
2. Secretary and,
3. Treasurer
4. Rest all will be member without any special power.
A trustee can offer these posts to his family members. President has all the powers of the trust. It may take 10–15 days to get the legal documents from the Ministry of the Government from the time of filing of the application form to run a trust legally. A trust may have a head office and a branch office in the same state as well as in two different states as you wish. The main tool of a trust is its deed wherein aims and objectives of the trust is enshrined. There must be two witnesses with their Aadhar Card present at the time of registration in the registrar office in Delhi. To make a trust there should be one member with their Aadhar Card from Delhi.
Documents required:
• Name of your Organization,
• Office address of your organization (NGO) which has to be from Delhi,
• One member of your trust has to be from Delhi with his Adhar card,
• Name and designation of the trustees along with address proof,
• 2 recent photograph of all the members,
• Electricity bill on the mentioned office address proof and 2 photograph each,
• 2 photographs of your member from Delhi which will act as an ‘author’ for registering the NGO.
Society: A society is another type of NGO which has established in the year 1860. It has minimum of seven members and all those members should be from seven different states. A society too has all the 3 designations mentioned above but family members are abandoned in the case of registering a society. It may take 1 to 2 months to get the legal documents from the Ministry of the Government from the time of filing of the application form to run your society legally.
Documents required:
• Name of your Organization,
• Office address of your organization (NGO) which has to be from Delhi,
• One member of your trust has to be from Delhi with his ID proof,
• Name and designation of the members of the society along with address proof,
• 2 recent photograph of all the members,
• Electricity bill/Water bill on the mentioned office address proof,
• 2 photographs of your member from Delhi which will act as an ‘author’ for registering the NGO.
• One post should be offered to the Delhi member among the three designations mentioned above.
• The society must have a unique name which should not be in the name of the nation.
ADVANTAGES
There are many advantages of the NGOs. You may work independently in your choice of field according to your wish. The NGOs are approved by the government and you can work anywhere in the world as you wish. The organization or the person will get 50% or 100% deduction of their taxable income from the Ministries of the Government after your NGO get registered. So if you want 50% or 100% tax exemption of your income, then you must register your NGO as a trust or a society. It is not only that an individual can avail tax benefits, even corporate organizations and government ministries also provide importance to the NGOs. If a company invests in social activities like building play schools, colleges, other institutions, hospitals, old age home, orphanage home etc. then it would get rewards by its stakeholders. You can get donations from the Government or the organizations. You might get both name and fame for your noble social work.
